Ankh
In vial: a mix of soft powdery aquatic and sweet floral with a hint of dryness.
On skin: oh, this is pretty. A soft, creamy floral scent, not sure what flower but I'm sure it could be lotus or lily. This is cool and white and has an aquatic, fresh scent to it. A soft feel of powder permeates the scent, not the hot sands of Abu Simbel but soft cool dust on an ancient breeze. Pure linen robes blowing in the wind, the white limestone of pyramids glinting in the morning light. It's like alabaster, white, translucent and luminous. There's a hint of something sugary about it, like sweet nectar or melon juice. There may be cucumber in here as well, it has that wet scent to it. I also smell a hint of white amber. The scent does seem to strengthen slowly, and greener notes poke through the scent of water, dust, linen and flowers, and I even get the scent of skin, a clean sweat (not dirty sweat!) scent, a slight salty scent of sun warmed skin. I wonder if there's Egyptian musk in here? It could explain the subtlety and 'second skin' properties of the scent. So it's mainly soft water, sweet flowers, dry sand, warm amber, and clean skin on me. And indeed, it dries to pure Egyptian musk on me. Despite its softness and closeness to the skin, this has a subtle beauty to it that is very touching, evocative, gentle.
In the vial, this is hitting a fragrance blindspot for me. I smell something vaguely sweet, but without character or nuance. This is probably more my nose than the oil itself. Once on, the scent finally blooms and has a cucumber-melony aquatic character, very fresh and cool. There has to be some amber in this, but it's a pale one. As it dries, there's a kind of soapiness to the freshness that just doesn't agree with my tastes. I got this for a friend who likes that sort of thing to sample, anyway, so I'm sure they'll enjoy it.

Oh! This is a gorgeous Egyptian Musk. Mixed in are vanilla and very light florals. There’s almost something slightly fruity somehow, or lemony? A your skin but better scent. Warm, gently sweet and velvety smooth. It reminds me of Sage Machado Pearl, but Ankh is richer on my skin. And the sillage, though soft, is just wonderful. _________________ ~*~ The Fragrant Elf ~ fragrance, food and flights of fancy ~*~

I really like the gentle scent I get from the scarab, but on me it just completely disappears. I'm afraid this one is too fragile for my body chemistry. :?

This one dissappears on me as well.
I think it is too delicate for me. _________________ 'Be joyful, my sweet lord, for I am destined to be your bride. But remember that I am no common woman but the child of Bastet the Beautiful.'

The first time I opened this vial I thought 'whuh huh?'......I could smell almost nothing. There's a vague faint scent, and I was intrigued. I really light very light scents for daily wear and tend to dilute many of my fragrances because I noticed that if I wear strong scents on a daily basis, I essentially lose my ability to smell the lighter ones. So, this was an immediate 'must try' for me......
Immediate applkication gave me a feel of quiet. I can't place any notes in here, there seems to be something musk-ish, but it's not a strong animalic musk. It's a meditative, whispery soft one. This scent feels like getting misted with a spray bottle when it's ridiculously hot and dry outside....it's not a wet scent, but it has cooling elements. It's very slightly powdery without POWDER....more like whne you look at pictures of white sands monument in New Mexico, and you're thinking snow but it's not....it's warmer and dryer.
I wish my review could focus more on the meat of the scent but this is really so ethereal. I like it a lot!

Bottle: Subtle and dry.
Me: This has a touch of creamy sweetness, like vanilla, but is mostly dry and ... ambery, maybe? It's not a strong scent, but subtle. There seems to be the tiniest hint of something like lemon or lime here, too.
This stays close to the skin on me. It's pretty, though. _________________

Ankh is gorgeous! On my skin, it is very light and ethereal – just a whisper of a scent. In the vial it is cool and airy, but once it touches the skin it warms up beautifully. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is very fragile. I get very light florals, warmed up by what could be white musk?
Either way, it’s lovely! I don’t usually carry off light florals well, and I couldn’t be happier that Ankh crossed my path. The rational part of my brain is telling me to tuck my skarabite away for a few months to see if aging helps Ankh’s longevity (it doesn’t last very long ) – but I suspect I won't be able to keep myself from slathering away!
Just beautiful! _________________ --

Obviously I'm going to have to rethink my stance on NA's sandalwood - here's another one that works for me. Maybe it's just Tut Ankh Amun that goes pickly . . .
A tiny bit sweet, sandalwood and a floral - it could be lotus but it's powdery, not aquatic. This is soft, light, delicate and airy, and quite lovely, though a little too fragile to last long, like the sands in the early morning before the sun dissipates the cool of the night. Pastel, serene and precious. _________________ Feed Me!Feed Me!

Egyptian musk... ambers... orange blossom…soft earthy spices or some such… Very pretty and long lasting. This oil benefits from body heat and lots of it, applying to cleavage, necks and hair would probably help disperse the scent and allow it to bloom.
