Shadow: Dragons of Egypt: Pseker

Pseker

Haunting Black Lightning ozone of Water, Air and Sand, Blue Patchouli and the aroma of scorched
darkness.

Why yes, this is a deep dark blue scent! You know that dark blackish blue that the sky gets when there there's a thunderstorm at dusk? That's exactly the color that comes to mind when I smell this perfume.....
It's a fresh clean smelling scent too.....I guess that would be the ozone. I have no idea what blue patchouli is supposed to smell like, but it's not like any patchouli I've smelled before.....and I love patchouli, so I've smelled a couple of those in my lifetime....

I really love how this is both light and dark in feel and scent ( lighting across an almost night sky ) and am absolutely delighted to have chosen this as my B-day present!
This is going to be worn during my BodyCombat classes very very often, no doubt. It's empowering!
ordinarily insane, but has lucid moments when merely stupid......

I wish I knew exactly what lightning smelled like close up, to do a comparison. :-o (Okay, maybe not.) But this scent does bring the proper visual to mind. First, in the bottle, it smells clean and wet, with a hint of fresh floral. Definitely something volatile is brewing in that bottle, though, as if it's going to burst forward. Then, there's an "electric" sharpness to it that storms out once it's on the skin. The aqua scent tends to lessen, but it's there. The patchouli comes to the front giving it spikes. Surprisingly, later the spikes lessen and the watery, spicy floral comes back out. Now, I don't see floral notes in the description, but that hint of spicy floral, which is coming from the rare blue patchouli, I'm sure, makes me feel as though I'm in an open field and the rain is coming down in big drops mixing up the dirt in the ground adding that scent to the air, and flashes of lightning lights the sky coming dangerously close, then calming after the storm has ceased smelling damp with sweet and spice. Very fitting smell for the black Shadow Dragon of Lightning.
It's my favorite scent and I adore dragons... so I just HAD to pick that name. ;)

Pseker
In vial: soapy ozone! It reminds me of washing up liquid. This doesn’t bode well…
On skin: now it smells less like soap and more like aftershave! This now smells like men’s perfume. It’s fresh and aquatic and evokes a deep blue green, like teal. Underneath I smell the dark shadow of patchouli. I don’t smell too much ozone or stormy notes, which is a good thing because stormy ozone tends to smell bad on me…but it smells like a sort of manly woody-green-aquatic, fresh and commanding. It’s a powerful scent. Over time this darkens and becomes murkier. The patch in here adds an earthy and very dark feel to this scent. It evokes inky skies and also smells humid, close and uncomfortable like the air before a storm. There is also a hint of the more masculine-woody Egyptian musk that I smelt in Egyptologist. This is definitely a man’s scent, at least on me it is. Too masculine for me, but it’s one of the nicer lightning-themed scents out there.

At first this was almost too floral for me. The aquatic is totally lovely. I would like to see more in this vein from NA. In fact I swore I smelled Hyacinth? But that isn't a listed note. This reminded me when I put it on of Cleopatra. And then it warmed up. I get an almost leather note in this. Maybe the patchouli and ozone mixing. Pseker is fantastic. Huzzah!

On first sniff this smelled like a fairly simple ozone/aquatic, and I was thinking it was starting to go a little soapy, then all of a sudden something sharp came out. Not the bad kind of headache inducing ozone sharpness, something more unusual... could that be the "black lightning" or the "scorched darkness"? Interesting. It dies down a bit but I'm now noticing more depth to this scent. There is a nice balance between the light ozone and the darker undertones.

As time goes I'm reminded more of sea than air. The scent just seems to get a bit deeper.

I have no idea how "blue" patchouli is different from other patchouli, but I think I like it. I wouldn't have picked patchouli out of this, but there is something vaguely spicy or incensey blended in here.

This one has a definate masculine scent to me.
It goes all dark and musky ozone and patchouli on me.

I will have to see how it smells on my beloved. :)

WOAH

Oh. My. God. Put. This. On. My. Man.

This is the clean, soapy scent of a guy that just got out of the shower and used his manly man-soap, like Irish Spring or Old Spice or what have you -- He's so fresh, so clean, and SO asking for an impromptu attack!! *goes to steal his towel*

I love the way this smells, I think it's masculine but it's completely attractive without any bitterness, sharpness, pungent ick, or any other qualities I sometimes associate with man-fume. Full bottle worthy! I'm gonna make him wear some tomorrow....I hope no ladies go Axe on him....
Ever notice how irons have a setting for permanent press? I don't get it.

Bottle: Ozone.
Me: This has that faintly citrusy scent that I associate with aquatics and ozone. It's light and charged, and befitting the description.

I get a bit of the "masculine" that other reviews talk of, but I wouldn't have a problem wearing this one myself.

Clean and soapy, smokey charred incense sticks, fresh flowers… Moves on to a more dry scent, like sun warmed stone somehow surrounded in a thick hazy mist. Very masculine.

very floral, very strong throw…gardenia, perhaps? I don't detect any familiar flowers, but It has a very "white" feel. And it lasts forever! I see it's supposed to be dark, dark, dark, but to me it's a lovely green scent.

In the scarab - Sea water, a hint of musk and a touch of something peppery

Wet on me - Warm and musky, but clean and salty

Dry on me - Clean, dry and salty

Overall - Quite a traditional 'masculine' scent. It's not really my sort of thing
