Aromatic Egyptian Sandalwood of the Aswan area. I chose this for the first release of Sandalwood (there will be others, as each region's Sandalwood smells very different) for its unique incense and haunting scent allegory. This, to my nose, is a unique Sandalwood unlike any Indian type - this is a glorious Egyptian scent that will bloom on your skin and as I have noted before - wearing this during a workout - is very haunting as your pores release pheromones the intensity of the scent allocates itself to another perspective other than directly from the bottle. In order to really appreciate any scent - always wear it at different times of the day/nite and throughout the year - scent changes just as our body and chemistry change with the seasons. This is for the person that wants to smell the proper scent of aged incensed Sandalwood with a slightly sweet nose and a beautiful incense finish. This version of Santalum will not be offered again. Future Santalum will have another version and origin from Egypt.
It's been a long time since I've sniffed and/or worn pure Sandalwood; I've gotten used to its being blended with vanilla or the like. Despite the description, this Egyptian Sandalwood isn't in the least bit sweet to my nose, in fact it has a sprinkling of peppercorn and citrus. But there's no bite - it's smooth and woody and aged. Beautiful on its own, this could also serve as an ingredient in your own alchemical mixings.
