Pharaoh

In vial: an odd mix of creamy notes and salty ozone. Maybe some amber too?
On skin: mmm, this is actually quite nice, with a citrus ozone scent to it. I smell a hint of nutty vetiver in here but also a sweet, soft, almost creamy note, which I think may be amber or musk. The ozone, which I feared would turn to soap, isn't soaping out on me here, it smells fresh and confident in here. A little masculine but not too much that it smells like generic men's perfume-this is a little more unusual and there's a soft amber sweetness that I like. This ozone is breezy, slightly wet. It almost feels like an unusually cool wind over the desert, blowing over water onto the sand. (nothing stormy on me, which is a good thing because most thunderstorm scents smell like electrified dryer sheets on me.) But then the bergamot note comes out a little more and the scent develops a delightful earl grey scent, which I love, and I swear I even catch a glimpse of something like vanilla or white musk peeking through the ozone. This scent is so much better than I expected-I was fearing the ozone reaction of doom, but I got a soft fresh desert rain and sweet creamy bergamot musk scent which is really, really growing on me.

Oh my! This is Wonderful!

Wet, intense bergamot, but not too sharp or bitter. Saltwater. Just a hint of ozone. Lots and lots of sunshine, the reassuring warmth that reaches out after a brief late afternoon thunderstorm.

Dry, the bergamot becomes tempered by something creamy. Not foody, but a creamy floral, perhaps the blossoms of the bergamot tree?

After a few minutes, I wonder, is that an amber? Something earthy and grounding . . .

I just love lemony fragrances, and this is a Big Win! I'm going to empty this skarabite (thanks so much!) in no time!

Bottle: Soapy and like aftershave.
Me: My husband said I smelled like his father. It is a very strong, masculine scent -- like aftershave -- when first put on, but mellows with time. Still, I think this is one of the few truly "masculine" scents of NA's I've encountered. While I do like masculine scents, this one will probably be given to my husband in the hopes he'll wear it and smell better than I would with it.

Salty wet bergamot, fresh cologne, sweet amber and a hint of dry spice. There is something going soapy on me. 10 minutes or so the soapiness has passed, a soft salty scent with a dry edge, perhaps a bit of floral. Like a seaside café with Cary Grant. (woohoo)

Oh, this is superb! Not entirely sure what I smell, so I'll give it a shot: men's cologne, amber, citrus, sugar...fresh and clean, perhaps a hint of balsam, but not spicy.
It goes on very masculine and then begins to morph. The underlying sweetness comes out...that must be musk, reminding me of Nocturne2 or Crystal.
I really like this one and will be applying it to my husband as soon as I get ahold of him tonight.

In the scarab - The citrus of the bergamot and the salt from the sea

Wet on me - Like sea air really, salt and seaweed

Dry on me - The sea salt remains and becomes slightly musky

Overall - Not really the sort of scent I would wear, and it faded quite quickly

In the skarab: Something bright and citrusy and fresh.

On Wet: This smells very clean on. I definitely get the waters of the sea element. There's something sally to it as well.

Dry: As this dries. the ozony part becomes stronger. It still has that beautiful clean element. It's fresh and cleansing.

Wet: Fresh bergamot and a hint of sea salty ozone, with a soft, clean, round cologney scent lurking beneath it. Sounds like I'm describing something kind of similar to Thoth, right? No- though both have yellow citrus and ozone to my nose, Pharaoh has a very different feel, more soft. The more bracing elements of the fragrance quickly mellow out.

Dry: Pharaoh quickly turns very creamy on my skin, like a light vanilla amber musk... I can't be sure exactly what it is for sure, but it's a subtly sweet skin scent. However, there's much more to it than that! The inviting, glowing base is blended with an enduring touch of bergamot and just a trace of ozone, flickering over the top of the scent like rays of sunlight on rippling water.

Overall: A creamy bergamot fragrance with a touch of the sea! I like this a lot more than I expected to... I might need more of it next summer. Feels right for the concept! A strong, clear-headed scent, but with a reassuring stroke of benevolence.
